As well as our open writing and performance workshops, we find poetry is a great way to focus on a specific issue or subject, such as something that pupils may be studying within the Citizenship or History curriculum or in wider celebrations of international and national days such as Book Week, Anti-Racism day, International Womens' Day, National Environment Day or Black History Month. Is there something you would like people to explore through poetry? Get in touch.
Workshop formats range from up to 120 people all day writing and performing to 360 people (4 x 1 hour 90 people per session) interactive showcases.
We work with people of all ages and abilities, from Primary age upwards, including N.E.E.T, hard to reach students, and those re-taking both GCSE and A-Level English.
Our poetry practitioners are part of a national poetry link which runs the yearly national UK Schools Slam Poetry Championships in Birmingham. Through our work with schools, we can nominate up to 2 pupils per age group from schools in the East of England to go through to represent their school in this prestigious yearly competition.
